One of our busiest weekends has crept upon us and is finally here! Every year on the last weekend in June, The St. Peter’s fiesta is celebrated by the people of Gloucester. This celebration includes a carnival with rides and games, seine boat racing, the infamous “Greasy pole contest”, a parade, and many other festivities. It runs from Wed-Sun and is a spectacular event for the city of Gloucester. We highly encourage if you are coming into the area for a whale watch to check out some of the festivities that are going on while you are here. See schedule of events here
And for Whale Watching, we have been having some really great trips! We have still been going to Jeffreys Ledge for the majority of our trips and with LOTS of success!
On Sunday 6/19 we saw humpbacks Gondolier, Milkweed (who actually breached quite unexpectedly), Satula, Hornbill, and Tulip. We also saw a couple fin whales, as well as a couple minke whales. Beautiful weather, great whales.
Monday’s trip 6/20 started out with some fantastic looks at a large group of white sided dolphins. We then saw humpbacks named Hornbill, Satula, and Milkweed. We also saw a couple minke whales. Another beautiful day on the water.
Attached are some pictures from Mandy H. from her trip with us on June 11th, Thanks Mandy!!!
